How can I set DP-300 with lpr printing in Linux Mandrake 8.0?

Answer:

The name of print server = DP300
The name by which the LPT1 port of print server = lpt1
The IP of print server = 10.40.9.34

1. Edit /etc/hosts file to add an entry for IP address and host name of print server. (ex. 10.40.9.34 DP300)
2. Execute "Mandrake Control Centor" --> Click "Hardware" --> Click "Printer" --> Click "Remote printer" --> Click "OK" -->Click "Remote lpd server" --> Click "OK"
3. Type printer's name in "Name of printer: Epson"
4. Type print server's name in "Remote hostname: DP300"
5. Type queue in "Remote queue: lpt1_TEXT"
6. Select the correctly driver for your printer --> Click "OK"
